The hip carry position is perhaps the most natural position we use to carry our children. Think about it, how do you carry your child around the house without a baby carrier? I know I carry my daughter on my hip, with one arm wrapped around her and the other one free to do what I need. This is exactly what a hip carrier is designed to do. The only difference is that a hip carrier is also designed to distribute the weight evenly, so you’re not slumped to one side. It’s also designed to provide support where you need it.
The below list of baby carriers all offer the natural hip carry position. Some offer multiple positions including front and back carry as well. For more information, click on the full review listed below each description. My reviews include a full lists of features, the Good and the Bad, customer feedback, and the best places to buy.
