The Boba Carrier 2G Classic and the Pikkolo Carrier have a few things in common. For instance, both baby carriers are made from 100% brushed cotton, and offer padded shoulder straps, and waist belts. Both the Boba Carrier 2G and the Pikkolo also offer sleeping hoods, and are designed for effective weight distribution that transfers Baby’s weight to your hips instead of your back and neck. Aside from those few similarities, these two baby carriers are quite a bit different. Let me explain.
First of all, the Boba Carrier 2G is designed to carry babies from 15 pounds to 45 pounds, whereas the Pikkolo Carrier is designed to carry babies from 8 to 40 pounds.
The Boba Carrier offers 2 carrying positions, front facing in, and back carry. The Pikkolo Carrier offers 4 carrying positions, front facing in and out, hip, and back carry.
The Boba Carrier offers added height and width to help support Baby’s weight, as well as detachable foot stirrups that help support proper leg alignment and blood flow. The Pikkolo Carrier offers two-handed safety buckles, dual adjust buckles, and the wide deluxe memory foam padded shoulder straps can be crossed in the back for more support while using the front carry position.
The Boba Carrier 2G comes with a padded waist belt. The Pikkolo’s waist belt is not padded, but you can purchase a Babywearing Support Belt separately. It offers plenty of padding and attaches directly to the waist band on the Pikkolo. If you plan on carrying heavier babies with it, you will need this support belt.
So, which is the best baby carrier? Well, they both reviewed really well, however, the Boba Carrier had the most reviews. With 104 out of 116 reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars, with 5 being the max, that’s a 90% customer satisfaction rating. The Pikkolo Carrier did not have as many, but with 13 out of 14 rating it 4 to 5 stars, that’s a 93% customer satisfaction.
The only other difference is price. The Boba Carrier Classic regularly lists for $100.00, and the Pikkolo Carrier lists for $129.00. Keep in mind that with the Pikkolo you have to purchase the Support Belt separate, for about $25.00. So in the end, the Boba Carrie 2G costs about $50.00 dollars less.
The Pikkolo Carrier costs about $30 – $50 dollars more, but you’ll also be able to use it longer with a minimum weight recommendation of 8 pounds and a max of 40. You’ll be able to use it through the infant stage as well as the toddler stage. Plus, the Pikkolo Carrier offers more carrying positions, as well as safety buckles, memory foam padded shoulder straps, and the ability to criss-cross the straps in the back for added comfort. You can get the Pikkolo Carrier at Amazon for $129.00. Don’t forget the Pikkolo Support Belt too.
Boba Carrier 2G Classic

It also offers added height and width to the seat along with detachable foot stirrups that help support proper leg alignment and overall posture. The Boba Carrier 2G comes with padded shoulder straps and a padded waist belt. It also offers one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings. The Boba Carrier 2G is currently on SALE at Amazon for $90.00.
