Where to Buy:

The ERGO Sport Baby Carrier is much like the original ERGO, designed to be  ergonomically correct, and offering three carrying positions, front facing in, hip, or back. Also like the original, the Sport has a weight capacity is 45 pounds, and will fit a newborn with the addition of an infant insert, sold separately.

The reason why this ERGO Baby Carrier is called a sport is because it’s made from 35% cotton/65% polyester, which means it breaths better than the original with 100% cotton. Also, the ERGO Sport has straps that are more adjustable. The shoulder straps extend an extra 4-inches more than the original, so that’s 31-inches as opposed to 27-inches. The waist belt extends an additional 5-inches as well.

  • Ergonomic design
  • Super adjustable – Shoulder straps extend an additional 4 inches compared to our Standard carrier (to 27″) and waist belt extend an additional 5″ to a max of 48″
  • Detachable sleeping hood
  • Max weight: 45 pounds
  • Minimum weight: Newborn w/infant insert or 15 pounds
  • Made from 35% cotton/65% polyester – extra breath-ability

ERGO Sport Baby Carrier Review:

ERGO Sport Baby Carrier ReviewPersonally, I love all the ERGO Baby Carriers. They’re extremely comfortable, and they offer proper weight distribution. In other words, baby’s weight is carried on your hips, not your shoulders or your back.

They also offer wide, extra padded shoulder straps. I especially like the lighter fabric on the ERGO Sport Baby Carrier. Breath-ability is very important, especially if you have a little one that hates getting too warm.

I also like the fact that the ERGO Sport offers plenty of adjustments, and can easily be adjusted to fit several body types.

What I don’t like about the ERGO Sport is that it doesn’t have the zippered pocket that the original does. It does have a small velcro pocket where the sleeping hood goes when detached, but that’s it.ERGO Sport Baby Carrier Review

I also don’t like the fact that you can’t use the ERGO Sport for a newborn unless you purchase an infant insert sold separately. They usually cost about $25.00, so if you intend to carry a newborn, you’re looking at spending about $130.00.

As for customer feedback, 58 out of 77 reviewers rated the ERGO Sport 4 to 5 stars, with 5 being the max. That’s about a 75% customer satisfaction rating, which is not the best, but it’s not the worst either.

All in all, the ERGO Sport is a great baby carrier, especially if you like the original ERGO Baby Carrier and you’re looking for something a little bit more ventilated. It’s currently on SALE at Amazon for $110.00. That’s the BEST price I’ve found.
